Who are we? We are a family shelter for rescued, injured, abused and abandoned animals.
- We are currently taking care of 421 rescued animals in the shelter, and there will be more, now we are taking care of little hedgehogs for the winter, after Christmas the number of inappropriate gifts will also be reflected in the reception of animals.
- We provide a home to unwanted, abused, injured animals, who then bring joy through therapy and visits, especially to seniors, children, people with heartache or handicaps, children from disadvantaged families - simply all of us.
- We urgently need to increase the CAPACITY for the reception of more animals, but above all to repair or rebuild enclosures, stables, aviaries, enclosures, but especially all newly built facilities, damaged by floods and, last but not least, to buy hay and feed that was completely taken away by the water. Unfortunately, the extent of the damage to our animal shelter brings us to the very beginning, or rather, unfortunately, to the very bottom. I don't even know if we will still have the strength to stand up and fight again, especially before winter.
Please read our story:
/sorry for our imperfect translation/
This year's flood also caused enormous damage in our shelter for unwanted, abused and abandoned animals. We adopt and provide a lifelong home for other animals that are often forgotten.
The water destroyed everything in its path.
The whole week before the floods, we moved animals to safety, especially animals that could not handle the amount of water and cold. We moved all guinea pigs, rabbits, all land turtles, most small birds and parrots, but also dogs that would drown in deep burrows, from the outdoor enclosures. We did everything possible and in our power, on the fateful days when there were unprecedented heavy rains, we had all the animals safely enclosed, housed in their stables or moved to aviaries with a full roof. At least we thought so.
Unfortunately, the devastation we found on the morning of 09/15/2024 was overwhelming. All the stables were completely flooded, the frightened animals were standing on raised sticks of straw, all around in the stables, around the stables, there was simply standing water everywhere. The worst situation was in the enclosures by the river, where there was over 1 meter of water. It was a heartbreaking sight to see a ewe with a newborn lamb standing on the back of the mother ewe as the cold and deep water would have been fatal for him. The kangaroo stood up to his belly in the water. The stunted chickens and the pheasants no longer had the strength to fly up to the perch, they were waiting for their irreversible fate in the water, the water was still rising from the surroundings. Even after we moved all the guinea pigs, because there was one big pond from their enclosure and house, the baby porcupines looked in disbelief at the flooded burrows. The only happy ones were the swans, they could bathe wherever they wanted...
Even though the aviaries are completely covered, they were completely under water.
Contaminated water, fallen branches and uprooted entire trees took their toll. Stables, aviaries, enclosures are damaged or destroyed, we will take a long time to repair them. Falling branches damaged many roofs and meshes on the aviaries. Fallen trees knocked down several of our fences. They completely broke the back fence of the ponies and the rescued goats, and half of the fence of the llamas and also the sheep is destroyed.
All of our facilities were badly damaged. Technical room, quarantine, animal infirmary, everything flooded, equipment, material, appliances, tools, everything destroyed. Unfortunately, we are not insured against floods.
2m fence half flooded:
WE LOST ALL HAY AND FEED!
Due to the nature of animals, the most important basic raw material for us is hay. We have a high consumption of hay, we've been really busy this summer making our own hay from rented meadows. The water took over 1,300 bales of hay from us.The fodder warehouse was completely heated, all the fodder we had bought from farmers for the whole year until the next harvest was under water.
The flood destroyed the security for our animals, which they found with us, often after a bad fate in life. She destroyed their housing, took away their food and a dry place to sleep.
Who do we help?
First of all, you will help restore a home for animals that have often found a new life with us in a difficult situation. Animals unwanted, abused, or simply retired from breeding. The amount of such animals that we accept every year is constantly growing.
Second, you help preserve a place that helps people be in nature.Seniors, handicapped children, clients from homes with special care or children from disadvantaged families come to us regularly.
Their visit enriches them with contact with nature, animals help seniors with memories of their youth, when life with animals was an integral part of their lives. Unfortunately, it is not possible for them to go on a trip to large zoos, they use our family environment and close contact with animals.
We currently have 421 rescue animals in our care.
In this year 2024 alone, we adopted over 80 guinea pigs, rabbits, hedgehogs, over 30 goats and sheep, llamas, horses, piglets. In addition, a large number of birds, including handicapped, sick parrots with stress syndromes, as well as owls, pheasants, poultry, pigeons, lovebirds and other birds, but also, for example, an unwanted inheritance for his family - the permanently handicapped Simon the Crow, who makes us with his talkative nature only joy itself. We have also taken in many terrarium animals, mostly from very unsuitable living conditions - agams, many turtles, iguanas and other lizards.
Animals come to us as unwanted pets who have stopped fulfilling their role as friends, children are tired of them, also animals from estates, but also unfortunately animals with a very bad past, abused and neglected, this mostly concerns goats, sheep and, unfortunately, horses. This spring was very hard on our psyche, because more than half of the malnourished goats and sheep received prematurely gave birth to their dead young, which could not sustain themselves any longer in their emaciated bodies. The other half carried their young, but rejected them. We had to warm and hand-feed almost all of them with breastmilk substitute for the first few days, carrying them to the goats every day and feeding them when they accepted them.
One of the kids that the rescued goat couldn't take care of:
Our shelter is open to all new creatures that need our help. You can also help restore the asylum, reconstruct it and expand its capacities.
What exactly will the money from this fundraiser be used for?
The damage is so extensive that we don't even know where to start.
First of all, we will buy feed and bedding:
Purchase of fodder, especially grains for the next harvest.
Hay - disposal of 1300 bales of spoiled hay and purchase of hay for the whole year until the next cutting.
Litter for cats and for winter for underweight baby hedgehogs.
And then we will gradually clean and reconstruct:
- First we have more cleaning to do. The water brought with it a lot of branches, mud. There are a lot of attacked trees, branches in the whole area, everything has to be cleaned.
- We will build new housing for the guinea pigs, due to the number of guinea pigs we currently have and we expect that the number of wards will increase especially after Christmas, we will build two or more guinea pig houses to separate the males and females so that they do not reproduce. Both houses will be insulated so that we don't have to move the guinea pigs to a warm place every winter, they will be able to live in their kingdom all year round. Of course, both houses with a large paddock will be as before, it will be a new turkey paradise.
- We will restore all stables for horses, ponies, donkeys, sheep, goats, pigs and llamas.
Depending on the condition, we will tear down and repair the aviaries and add more to them to await new rescued residents for next year.
We will be happy if we can build more spacious aviaries for birds, new rabbit enclosures, more aviaries for handicapped birds.Possibly new corrals and stable. - Fallen trees and branches especially damaged animal enclosures. We have to replace most of the columns with new ones, stretch the whole set with new mesh and okor boards. It's hundreds of meters of fences. We have to do all this before the winter to keep the animals safe.
The feed warehouse is the alpha and omega for us, it must be a clean, harmless environment. It was contaminated with dirty water and mud, so it has to undergo a complete renovation,
It will be important to restore the infirmary and the quarantine, where the contaminated water destroyed all the equipment, all the equipment, medical material for the basic veterinary treatment of the animals when they were received to us. We can't do without them, we can't do it without you. - If we have enough funds, we will make landscaping to at least partially prevent the flood of water during the next big rains.
If the amount is higher, we will build our own hay hall, because we feel more and more that we simply cannot do without it, hay is the basis for us and a vital feed that 80% of our animals need.
We also have another major issue weighing on us, and that is getting a better car. The current vehicle we use is insufficient for us in terms of space, the transport transport boxes are large, we would need a larger rear part of the vehicle. The vehicle is already almost a veteran, it has 300,000 miles on it. km, its technical condition does not improve even after the last service repair. We need the vehicle daily for outings for animals, veterinary treatment, but above all for supplying feed, vegetables and meat.
Every extra crown will help us go further and safer for animals than before.
We built the entire park and asylum ourselves, without subsidies. We provide funding through many activities that we do for children and youth, especially the elderly, children from disadvantaged families, we organize discussions for schools, we go to homes for the elderly or they come to us, we make products in our own workshop that we sell to support our asylum. In our project, the pleasant is combined with the useful - we will provide a home for unwanted animals, who then make people happy when they visit us.
Unfortunately, we cannot manage such a large investment in repairs ourselves, so we are asking you to help us.

More about us:
We accept abused, injured or unwanted animals whose owner can no longer take care of them for any reason. There are many facilities, asylums and shelters for cats and dogs, less for other animals. And maybe that's why we have more and more incomes of unusual animals whose owners can no longer care for them for any reason.
What pets do we accept?
smaller species of cattle - especially goats and sheep.
small equines - donkeys, ponies
we have a free box for one more horse
llamas, camels
all kinds of ornamental birds, parrots. Both Australian, which can be in spacious outdoor aviaries all year round, but also other species, especially African parrots.
poultry, both water and burrowing /hens, ducks, geese, pheasants, pigeons, etc./, but of course also ostriches, turkeys and peacocks.
owls and raptors /including corvids, etc./
all rodents and hares /guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, rabbits of all sizes, etc./ Note. we do not use donated animals to feed other animals.
to a limited extent, terrarium animals - turtles without restrictions, small lizards, iguanas from large lizards, etc. We do not accept poisonous animals.
invertebrates etc.
exotic animals /kangaroos, exotic rodents/ etc.
We also accept handicapped animals.
All grazing animals /horses, sheep, goats, llamas/ are stabled with us in a 24/7 regime, i.e. free in the pasture all year round, with constant access to the stable, which can be closed, in case of necessity, illness, injury or on New Year's Eve, when we lock up all our animals.

Prospective investments, our dreams for animals and persons
- Car - currently the most important investment. Our car has 265,000 km, unfortunately it is falling apart, it is not safe, it is not strong enough to pull a cart with horses. The number of accepted animals increases every month, and with it the number of outings, both for the animals and the necessary veterinary examination of the animals, as well as the purchase of feed, and the purchase of vegetables and meat several times a week. We also go to sales shows where we offer our products made for equipment financing.
- Hay hall - alpha omega storage of hay for the whole year, especially during the harsh winter. We feed 1500 bales of hay annually.
- Construction of quarantine, veterinary infirmary - for safe reception of new animals.
- Construction of new fences /10 km of fences/
- Construction of new stables, aviaries and enclosures for other rescued animals.
- Build barrier-free facilities for seniors and children in wheelchairs.
Thanks for reading our story this far.
We are philanthropists, we believe in a better tomorrow, our animal souls are everything to us. However, the natural disaster that has befallen us is beyond our control. We will be happy for any help you can provide. Thank you!
